Brewed in celebration of our 8th Anniversary, this punchy little sour is a nod to where it all began: the sun-soaked, cactus-lined deserts of Arizona. Long before Angry Horse Brewing opened its doors in Montebello, we were kids growing up with dust on our boots, chasing shade and cold drinks in triple-digit heat. Prickly pear wasn’t just fruit—it was part of the landscape. Part of the culture. And part of our earliest memories of flavor.

With Prickly Pony, we’ve captured that nostalgia in a glass and laced it with the playful, experimental spirit that defines everything we do today.

At its core, Prickly Pony is a Berliner-style sour—light, tart, and built for refreshment. But what makes it truly kick is the bold addition of real prickly pear puree. The result? A brilliant magenta pour that catches the eye and a flavor that refuses to be ignored.

We’ve always brewed with intention—celebrating community, memory, and place. And when it came time to mark eight years of Angry Horse Brewing, we wanted something that honored not just our fans here in Montebello, but also the untamed beauty of our past.

Prickly Pony made its official debut at our 8th Anniversary Bash—a day packed with food vendors, live bands, DJ sets, community energy, and of course, limited-release brews. Alongside Chilly Filly, our Cold IPA counterpart, Prickly Pony brought color, fun, and that signature Angry Horse balance of craft and character.
